Medical District Corridor
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Medical Business Corridor of Oklahoma City is anchored by St. Anthony’s Hospital on the west and the University of Oklahoma’s medical center on the east. The corridor also defines the north edge of downtown Oklahoma City. The city’s goals with this strategic plan were to identify economic development opportunities related to the medical sector for the underdeveloped corridor along with recommendations on street reconstruction.
Development Strategies determined the economic development potential, market analysis, and financial feasibility for recommended growth opportunities. Development Strategies was also responsible for implementation strategies within the capabilities of the institutions and the city. Development Strategies recommended aggressive use of the city’s own urban renewal authority to enforce development guidelines for the corridor and issuance of developer requests for proposals for specific development opportunities. Development would be overseen by a joint task force of the city and the participating institutions.
