A recent announcement confirmed a niche opportunity for a Lucky’s Market urban grocer, which emphasizes fresh, local, and organic foods. Plans show the grocery store will be built at the street and serve as a pivotal anchor that will enhance the marketability of Cleveland’s Near West side as a place to live and shop. Per City Councilman Matt Zone, “It’s such a perfect fit in terms of what the neighborhood would like to see and what the brand stands for.” The opportunity was identified by Development Strategies in Fall 2014 as part of the Gordon Square Arts District Master Plan. Gordon Square Arts District is a rapidly-revitalizing district that sits amidst four neighborhoods, known collectively as Cleveland’s Near West Side.
